“The only way to learn Mathematics is to do Mathematics”
National mathematics day is celebrated every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of India’s famous Mathematician Srinivasan Ramanujan.
“Mathematics Day” at Vardhman Academy Railway Road was a celebration filled with interactive and immersive activities, aiming to foster the basic concepts in budding and inquisitive minds. Through engaging and entertaining activities, kids discovered the magic and excitement hidden within the world of mathematics. Various activities were organized for kids such as clock making, fraction flower, multiplication of flowers, shape dance and quiz etc. Through these interactive activities they discovered that mathematics is not only about numbers but also about imagination, patterns and logic. The event kicked off with an exploration into the ancient tool of calculation, the abacus through manipulation of beeds. Adding a touch of nature to numbers, the multiplication and division of flowers activity brought mathematics to life. Through the creation of clock models, students learn to read time and comprehend its importance in our daily life. Furthermore, the introduction of fraction flowers allowed student to visualize fractions in a creative way. The day concluded with a rhythmic and energetic “shape dance”. Students moved and grooved while embodying various geometric shapes. Overall, mathematics day was a celebration of discovery, creativity and exploration, where young minds embraced mathematics with enthusiasm and joy. The day left a lasting impression encouraging kids to continue exploring the fascinating world of maths.
